Metal speaker grilles for automotive cars via photochemical etching

What's metal speaker grille?

Speaker grilles, also known as speaker covers or speaker meshes, it is an accessory for the interiors, but the metal speaker grilles are stronger, making your interior more luxurious, so engineers often using metal speaker grilles in the interior design of luxury vehicles nowdays.

Hysonetch is a professional photo chemical etching manufacturer, supplies photo etching metal speaker grilles for world-renowned automotive marques, such as Volvo, BMW, Mercedes and BYD etc. The speaker grille was previously made by braided wire, only limited to simple design. The advent of the photochemical etching process not only improves the completion rate of complex designs, but also greatly improves the quality of the product.

Hysonetch specializes in the etching process for more than ten years. For complex designs, skilled control, custom metal speaker grilles, we also have a professional design team, the corresponding design of the subtraction of the complex design, High-precision etching, burr-free, micron tolerances, and high-definition surface engraving advantages, making high quality and inexpensive products.

Step1: Selecting materials

Photochemical etching machining can apply to almost any sheet metal, like stainless steel, copper, nickel, titanium, aluminium etc. Select the material according to customer's requests.

Step2: Cleaning the sheet metals

Clean the sheet metal plates. This step is to remove the oil stains on the surface.

Step3: Lamination

A (UV) light-sensitive photo-resist apply onto the surface of the metal substrate. It can protect the metals which are not be etched.

Step4: Exposing

The stencil film is placed over the photoresist-coated metal substrate. The design is transferred to the photoresist by exposing the sheet to UV light through a stencil film.

Step5: Developing

This step removes the unexposed areas of the photoresist, leaving behind a patterned layer corresponding to the desired part design.

Step6: Etching

Then we immerse the metal substrate in an etchant solution, which chemically dissolves the exposed metal areas not protected by the developed photoresist.

Step7: Stripping

Once the etching is complete, remove the remaining photoresist from the metal surface, typically through a stripping process.

Step8: Inspection

Use image measuring instrument to check the appearance and dimension.

Step9: Finishing

The resulting part may undergo additional finishing steps such as deburring, cleaning, and surface treatment to achieve the desired final properties and appearance.
